In 2019, Mike Weiner became of counsel to Newman Ferrara LLP, where his practice focuses on business litigation and arbitration.
Mike deploys his know-how and experience to serve his clients’ business objectives. Over the past twenty-four years, he has tried multimillion-dollar cases to disposition, argued appeals in previously-unresolved areas of the law, and settled hundreds of cases on advantageous terms. The variety of cases that Mike has undertaken is as expansive as the needs of the business enterprises that he represents; he has advocated in disputes among shareholders and business partners, commercial landlord and tenancy matters, breach of contract cases, insurance coverage contests, unfair competition suits, and commercial tort actions.
Mike received his J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School and his LL.M. in International and Comparative Law, with distinction, from Georgetown University Law Center. Prior to law school, Mike earned a B.A. in English, magna cum laude with honors, from Occidental College.
In addition to his active practice, Mike teaches Legal Analysis Writing and Research Skills at Rutgers University Law School. He was previously a part-time Adjunct Professor of Legal Writing at Brooklyn Law School.
Mike has been a member of the Judiciary Committee of the LGBT Bar Association of Greater New York (known as LeGaL) since 2011, its Vice Chair from 2016 through 2020, and its Co-Chair from 2020 through the present.
